Art & Ideas New Haven
The International Festival of Arts & Ideas is a non-profit arts organization located in New Haven, CT that has the responsibility of producing a world-class festival in dozens of venues over the course of sixteen days in June. Enterity was contracted in February to assist IFAI with a major overhaul of its web-based information and ticketing portal. A 2004 Economic Impact Survey cited the site as being their main source of information about the Festival.
Recently launched, the new web portal (http://www.artidea.org) included the implementation of Enterity's Osiris Information Management Platform and Web Content Management Suite.
Enterity's product offerings provided IFAI with an extremely robust and flexible application platform for building and publishing information about the organization and its comprehensive program guide. While much of the site's content deployment was accomplished through the use of Osiris' standard publishing tools, IFAI took advantage of the platform's extensibility to develop custom content structures for the management of a complex matrix of event, performance and venue information.
Osiris' flexibility shone when, approaching the project's deadline, IFAI realized that the addition and modification of a number of these custom content structures would greatly aid their audience's ability to find the information they sought. In short order and with a minimum of fuss, additions and changes were made to accommodate this new plan.
In a second phase, IFAI will also be offering online ticket purchasing for select events to the general public though e-commerce components from Enterity. Based on Enterity's Information Management Platform, IFAI box office staff will have complete control over ticket pricing and availability, and will be able to process orders placed online through a secure web site.
The project also incorporated a number of the consulting and creative services offered by Enterity, including solution architecture development, user interface development, graphic design and strategic content consulting.
